Deregulation of the power companies has allowed people to buy electricity in many states for approximately 10-15% below their current rate for electricity that they have been paying to the same old power company year after year. Now a new source is available using  renewable sources of power production like hydro electric , wind and solar photovoltaic, and less coal and nuclear to provide  electricity to customers.  All we need to do is educate people to the options that lay before them. BG & E is offering cash grants to offset the capital investments for commercial lighting projects that meet the guidelines.   The Induction Lamps have a typical lifespan of 100,000 hours and maintain their lumens levels for a much longer period than metal halide, incandescent or fluorescent lights. Lighting accounts for considerable portion of the “energy consumption pie”.
